US COMMISSION OF FINE ARTS MEETS ON OCT. 19 TO DETERMINE THE LOCATION OF THE MEMORIAL IN WASHINGTON, DC
The US Commission of Fine Arts in Washington, DC, will review recommendations presented by the National Park Service and the National Desert Storm War Memorial Association for two potential locations for the new National Desert Storm and Desert Shield War Memorial in Washington, DC. Washington, DC, July 26, 2016 –Twenty-five years ago, more than 680,000 service members took part in Operation Desert Storm, at the time the largest deployment of U.S. Armed Forces since Vietnam.
